The Iyuwεrdɪn is a mythological creature that is rarely seen. Movement I contains the basic materials from which it was conceived. Movement II (ideally played by live acoustic flutist) illustrates a Romantic painter’s interpretation of the mythology, attempting to capture the “bird’s” essence. The third movement depicts an observation of the Iyuwεrdɪn in nature.

Debod: The Temple Reflected upon Water.
(photo by Luis Montenegro. I claim no rights to it) This is an arrangement of an arrangement. Aivi Tran arranged Koji Kondo's and Mahito Yokota's piece, Buoy Base Galaxy. I loved her arrangement of this piece and decided to transcribe this exhilarating piece for a front ensemble. In this arrangement I tried to capture the adrenaline and whimsical harmonies present in Aivi's performance. Enjoy! And message me if you would like the score to perform it. If you'd like to see Aivi's arrangement, I posted it below. Still to be performed, this tone poem for Brass choir explores magical perception from the physical world. The score calls for: 4 trumpets, 2 Horns, 5 (or 3) Trombones, 2 euphonium, 1 tuba. December 2012 Fun and short Pit warm-up arrangement of "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj.
For those of you that aren't familiar, the pit, or front ensemble, is the group of musicians that don't move in a marching band routine, usually placed at the front of the field/performance space. Written for my high school Concert Band as a Theory Class exercise infused with heart and soul. It's a great warm-up for intonation and tuning. June 2011
