It is intended for a large ensemble because of the many splits within each part. It also requires an ensemble with good intonation in the more extreme registers of the instrument (particularly brass).
After completing this and hearing it read through by an ensemble, I learned a lot about what worked and what didn't. For example, if you have the intention of distorting the timbre of an instrument, you have to be careful that the context of the desired pitch won't disturb the intonation heavily. If anyone would be interested in performing this or reading the score to give me orchestration pointers that would improve the affect of the piece, let me know, I'd love to improve!
